Wondering if the viral Tiktok Boursin Orzo Bake is as good and easy as it looks on the app? Well wonder no more! I’m here to tell you I gave it a go and it was DYNAMITE! And it comes together in about 5 minutes. I’ll walk you through exactly how to make this tasty one pot wonder, with exact measurements (bottom of the post!) so you don’t have to put in the guess work.
My church has recently started doing something called “Seasoned Sisters,” where some of the older ladies get together and sew blankets to donate to a NICU at a local hospital. Now…I find myself to be quite “seasoned” as well; obviously not in the same way, I have been around for half (if not less) of the time than a lot of those powerhouses. But, I have lived a lot of life in that time, moving out in high school to escape an abusive and toxic household and being considered homeless by the state, studying abroad, and more. I have also been known to get a little salty and a little spicy from time to time…but don’t we all? 😉
Anywho, I have started going to these service project days and they are fabulously fun. They include a potluck, so the first time I went I brought my Churro Rice Krispie Treats. The next time? I brought this bake. And let me tell you…It. Was. A. Hit.
Why the TikTok Orzo Bake WORKS->
- One pot
- 10 simple ingredients
- So easy and fast, I could probably make it with my eyes closed!
What You’ll Need to Make Boursin Orzo
Full amounts listed at the bottom of the post!
- Boursin: Garlic & Fine Herbs variety, but you could definitely experiment with their other flavors!
- Orzo: not all orzo is created equal! Look for orzo that uses high-quality durum wheat semolina. It creates a rougher, more “authentic” texture that better absorbs the creamy saucy goodness.
- Cherry tomatoes: you can swap these for another variety of tomatoes, like the Early Girl or Teeny Tiny Tomatoes from Trader Joe’s!
- Olive oil
- Black pepper: freshly cracked is my fave!
- Garlic powder
- Chicken broth
- Heavy cream
- Spinach
- Parmesan: definitely grate the parmesan yourself. Pre-shredded cheese has a time and a place, but it is not here. You don’t want any of the anti-caking coating to get in the way of this smooth and creamy dish! It will cause the parm to not melt down well and make it a lil grainy. Go for fresh if at all possible!
What is Boursin?
Boursin is a delightful cheese that got it’s start in France; it is a soft, creamy, and crumbly Gournay-style cheese that has a delightfully rich flavor. The original Garlic & Fine Herbs variety is probably their most famous, but all of their signature foil wrapped cheeses are quite nice. I like the Shallot & Chive kind especially!
This post is not sponsored by Boursin, I’m just a big fan of their products! You can learn more about their story here.

How to Make the Boursin Baked Orzo
- Select the right baking dish: You’ll want to use an oven safe baking dish that is at least 4 inches deep and can hold at least 60 oz. I used my 6 quart cast iron; there was PLENTY of extra room, so you could definitely use something smaller than that.
- Make your wreath: Place the Boursin in the middle of the dish and pour the orzo around it, making a wreath. It doesn’t need to be perfectly even by any means. 🙂 Add in the tomatoes this way as well.

- Drizzle and season: Drizzle the olive oil evenly over everything, then sprinkle the seasonings evenly over everything as well.
- Add liquids: Pour in the chicken broth, then heavy cream.

- Tent and bake: Loosely tent the dish with foil, then bake at 425F for 30 minutes.
- Final add ins! Remove from oven and immediately add in the spinach and parmesan cheese. Stir, and allow to sit for 2 minutes before serving.

Boursin Orzo Bake Recipe Variations
Add Protein
- Chicken: When stirring in the spinach and parmesan, add in shredded or cubed rotisserie chicken
- Shrimp: Saute shrimp in garlic butter and add when you stir in the spinach and parm, OR add raw shrimp to the pot when there is about 10 minutes left of cooking time. Just make sure the shrimp reaches an internal temperature of 145F.
- Sausage: Slice up some roasted garlic and cheese chicken sausage and add to the pot before cooking!
Add Extra Veg
- Add in chopped asparagus, mushrooms, bell peppers….what ever veggies sound good! Note: if using a vegetable with a higher water content (like zucchini or mushrooms), it may make your bake a bit more watery. But it is still delicious!
Add More Flavor
- The flavor of this one is GREAT, but if you want to dress it up even more, add lemon juice, fresh basil, and/or chopped parsley when it comes out of the oven!
Storage Tips
IF you are lucky enough to have leftovers, simply store in a sealed food storage container in the fridge for up to 4 days!
