Want to wow your Galentine guests? Make your Valentine a very festive drink? Or maybe you just want a fun and oh-so easy extra for your family on love day. Whatever the reason, these grenadine cherry ice cubes are great for taking your hosting skills to the next level, impressing your Valentine, and making any day with your loved ones extra special.

What is Grenadine?
Fun fact. Grenadine is pomegranate flavored, not cherry! It’s a common mistake (one that I only learned about recently!). This nonalcoholic syrup is made from pomegranate juice and some other ingredients, depending on what brand you buy. It’s sweet with a little bit of tartness and works so well with cherry flavor!
What You’ll Need:
- Grenadine
- Water
- Cherries: maraschino, fresh, OR just the stems!
- Edible glitter: optional but SO fun
- Ice cube mold: I use a heart mold, but can use whatever shape you want
Here’s your shopping list!

How to Make Grenadine Ice Cubes for Valentine’s Day
- If using edible glitter, lightly powder/coat your ice cube mold with it.
- Mix your water and grenadine together. Stir gently, then pour into the molds.
- Add in your fresh or maraschino cherries, OR just add in the stem (to create ice cube “cherries!”)
- Freeze until set.

How to Use
- Throw a whole batch into your punch bowl or drink dispenser for a festive decoration
- Use in individual drink cups
- Use these in my viral punch recipe or in a Dr. Shirley!

Method
- Place your ice cube mold on a small baking sheet. If using edible glitter, lightly dust/coat the cavities of the mold with the glitter.
- In a measuring cup or in a glass that is easy to pour from, combine 1 part Grenadine to 3 parts water. Mix slightly.
- Carefully pour the grenadine water mixture into each of the cavities. Place a cherry OR just the cherry stem into each one of the filled cavities.
- Place in the freezer until set. Store in the freezer until ready to use, then use immediately once removed.
