Planning a party where guests need both a ballgown and a blood-splattered weapon can be tricky, but don’t worry—I’ve mastered the blend of elegance and horror required for the perfect ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ themed event. Get ready to throw a party that’s as flawless as Mr. Darcy’s drawing room… right before the shambling begins.

WATCH “pov: you throw a pride and prejudice and zombies party“
I absolutely love hosting. One of my favorite parts of being a real-life grown up is….I can have people over whenever I want. The extrovert in me THRIVES these days, and I love having a space where people can gather. It is truly a dream come true for me (healing my inner child/teenage self!)
This party was one of my all-time favorites to host. The theme was a little silly and a whole lot of fun and I truly walked away from it with the only complaint being that I didn’t take more pictures. It was a night to remember!
So please, allow me to walk you through what we did for this slightly spooky Jane Austen-inspired evening, complete with Halloween-meets-Pride and Prejudice-Mad Libs, morbidly-marvelous themed food, and more!

Pride and Prejudice Party Food
The beautiful thing is, is that this food can be served at any Pride and Prejudice party…spooky or not!
- Charcuterie: I named ours “Meryton Meats & Cheese” to tie into the Austen-vibe. This is such an easy way to serve food at parties! Is it overdone? Probably. But there’s a reason why! Serve your favorite meats, cheeses, crackers, olives, veggies, etc.

- Cucumber Sandwiches: Lady Catherine brought her finest. Spread a bit of butter on two piece of good quality white bread. In a bowl, beat a brick of softened cream cheese with some fresh dill and the juice and zest of one lemon. Spread evenly on top of the buttered bread, then place thinly sliced cucumber on one piece of the bread. Make your sandwich, then cut the edges and slice diagnolly. Voila!

- Macaroons and Cream Puffs: I typically get these from Vons, Trader Joes, or Costco!
- Mini Tarts: I love the little petite quiches from Target’s Good & Gather brand! We called ours “Lydia’s A Tart.” 😉
- Strawberry and Cream Shooters: aka “Fraises et Creme a la Georgiana.” Sprinkle sliced strawberries with a tiny bit of sugar. In a separate bowl, whip some cream cheese, heavy cream, and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy. Layer the strawberries and the cream in cute little shooter cups! (I used these!)
- Pemberly Punch: one part ginger ale, one part cranberry juice, a couple springs of rosemary, and ice. I typically use zero sugar ginger ale and pink cranberry juice. BONUS serve your punch with dry ice so it’s oh-so spooky (just be careful while handling dry ice!).

Other Regency Era Inspired Eats:
- Scones: Beth over at The First Year blog is THE QUEEN of scones. I made her homemade cinnamon chips for the scones, too!
- Petite Fours
- Tea cookies
- Fruit: I used grapes mostly as a garnish, but people gobbled them up. Growing up my friends and I would have “tea” parties; one of my friends would bring raspberries stuffed with chocolate chips. They were delightfully tasty and simple. Those would be cute here, too!
- Potatoes. Any form. But really, boiled potatoes would be best. I ran out of time and didn’t get any potatoes for the spread, so raw potatoes with a sign and fake wax blood would have to do!

Decoration Ideas for a Pride and Prejudice and Zombies Party
I did white table cloths, courtesy of my wonderful MIL (Dollar Store disposable ones would be fine, too!) with black Victorian lace runners. Here are some of our favorite decoration finds (here’s my Amazon list, too!)
- Candleabras
- Battery operated candle sticks
- White roses
- Fake blood drips & splatters: I used wax to create the blood effects. I melted the wax and carefully dripped it down the sides of parment paper covered books. Once cooled, it can be removed and placed on candle sticks, books, etc. I also dripped the hot wax on some of the white roses to make them look blood-splattered. I loved these little details! I’m not super into gorey-Halloween, so I liked these little subtle decorations! Just the right amount of elegant spooky for me 😉
- Cauldron: Threshold brand from Target!
- Old books: BONUS if they are Jane Austen!
- Bust: I found mine on clearance at World Market awhile ago!
- Black tealight candles
- Fog machine: (don’t forget the liquid fog!)
Pride and Prejudice Themed Party Activities & Games

What do you even do at a Pride and Prejudice themed par-tay? Endless options! We kept it super simple and mostly chatted. We had a couple P&P Mad Libs, live music (by my husband, SIL, and the one and only “Old Rockstar” aka my awesome FIL), dancing, and costume voting! Here are some other ideas!
- Bingo
- Minute to Win It games: as is, like this one, OR make up your own Pride and Prejudice inspired ones!
- Limbo
- Jane Austen or Pride and Prejudice trivia: Write in answer sheets, Family Feud or Jeopardy style
- Pride and Prejudice Charades
You can download my Pride and Prejudice Mad Libs from Canva for free!

What to Wear to a Pride and Prejudice Party
The beautiful thing about this theme is you could do a regency era costume, zombie get up, or both!
My BIL came as “Pond Mr. Darcy.” EPIC. You can peep it in my reel. There were so many fantastic costumes!

We love to party in our house! Although I am shy, I am an extrovert through and through. I THRIVE and am so charged by being around people! We love to host get togethers and find ways to throw cute and fun parties while sticking to a budget. I hope you love these Pride and Prejudice inspired party ideas! Drop a comment or tag me on social if you give any of these a try, I would love to hear/see!
