What you’ll need to make Citrus Stovetop Potpourri

  • Grapefruit
  • Lime
  • Lemon
  • Orange: I used a blood orange this time, but you can really use any variety. Even mandarins and tangerines can work for this one!
  • Peppercorn: I like using the tri-colored/rainbow peppercorn blend from Trader Joe’s, but any peppercorn will do.
  • Rosemary
  • Water
  • A good pot: I love using this enamel cast iron pot!

How to make a DIY Simmer Pot

  1. Combine all ingredients in a pot.
  2. Bring to a simmer, reduce heat, and enjoy the oh-so fresh smells!

Crockpot Potpourri

Alternatively, you can fill a crockpot 3/4 full of water. Add the sliced citrus, peppercorn, and rosemary. Set on high for 3-4 hours uncovered, so potpourri can become heated and the aromas develop.

Simmer Potpourri Recipe tips

Batch Make It! Double or triple the recipe and evenly divide ingredients between mason jars or air tight containers and store in the fridge. You’ll have stovetop potpourri at your fingertips for up to five days!
