Dr Pepper’s famous bite has 23 somewhat hard-to-peg flavors. Whatever flavors they are? They are iconically delicious. Take yours to the next level by adding–or accentuating–more flavors. Hop on the Utah Soda trend and give one of these soda recipes a go!

The “Utah Soda Culture” has taken the nation by storm. Made “famous” by soda shops like Fiiz and Swig, mixed sodas have become A THING. Don’t live near one of these iconic shops? No worries. Make your own at home with one of these amazing Dr Pepper combos!
While I prefer Dr Pepper Zero, you can use any type of Dr Pepper here. “Unleaded,” diet, or mix it up even more by using one of their flavored varieties, like the strawberries and cream or cream soda flavors.
My personal favorite of the combos below? #3, the Berry Good Dr. with Dr Pepper Zero and sugar free syrups. Whenever I hit up a soda shop, that is my go-to order! It was the “Bride’s Favorite” drink at our wedding soda bar!

How to make a mixed soda
Follow these directions for all of the combos above!
- Scoop your desired amount of ice into your cup of choice.
- Add soda.
- Add in any fruit juice/purees. If using fresh fruit, add the wedge to the cup when you are done adding the juice.
- Add syrup(s).
- If using cream or creamer, add in here.
- Give it a stir.
- Serve!
PRO TIPS
- Cute cups make your drink taste better. This is a fact.
- When pouring your soda, try pouring with the glass at an angle. I have found that this helps the fizz/carbonation to fizzle down more quickly.

Recommended Tools
- Cup: Glass or stainless steel to keep your precious cold!
- Pebble ice: you can buy bagged pebble ice from Sonic and Chick Fil A! The ice maker on our fridge broke awhile back, so we got a counter top pebble ice maker. BEST PURCHASE EVER. We use it multiple times a day!
- Juicer: I use my hand juicer ALL the time…and not just for making fun sodas! It’s amazing the difference freshly squeezed citrus can add to your cooking!
- Syrups & purees: I can usually find a decent selection at my local World Market and Smart and Final. I’ve also put together an Amazon list for easy shopping! I have found that Torani and Syruvia have the best flavors/selections. If you have others you like, let me know in the comments what you’ve found!
Make Your Own: Mixed Soda Ratios
The possibilities are seriously endless with making your own mixed soda! Here are some easy ratios to get you started:
- 1 can soda of choice
- 1 can soda: 1/2 pump puree or syrup
- if using multiple flavors, consider doing 1/4 pump of each flavor as to not overpower the drink
- Juice from 1/4 of a citrus
- 1 Tbsp coconut cream, vanilla cream, or half & half/heavy cream
- Ice ice, baby!
Let me know in the comments which one is your favorite! And don’t worry…there will be plenty more soda recipes to come. I LOVE me some diet soda!
